The Blue Planet Aquarium Copenhagen, Denmark

The new Blue Planet aquarium will replace the existing Danish Aquarium built in 1937. Den Blå Planet is to be built on a spectacular coastal site outside Copenhagen.

An international competition for the design of the aquarium was won by the 'Maelstrom' inspired entry prepared by architects 3XN of Copenhagen.

Advanced Aquarium Technologies has been contracted to provide all aquarium specialist design and construction services for the project.

The aquarium will feature warm and cold water exhibits from around the world.
