King penguins and gentoo penguins have arrived at SEA LIFE Sydney Aquarium, housed in a world-class exhibit featuring an expedition ride to Macquarie Island.

“Guests take a raft ride to the Island and get up close and personal with the penguins, immersed in their world at a cool yet comfortable six degrees Celsius.” says Gerhard Beukes, Curator at SEA LIFE Sydney Aquarium.

After an up close and personal visit with the fascinating colony, guests learn about threats they face in the wild and how to help protect their futures. The new experience will allow the Aquarium to educate visitors on the topics such as climate change, plastic pollution and declining fish stocks.

Since opening many guests have commended the exhibit and were thrilled to see the king and gentoo penguin colonies. The $9 million, sub-Antarctic exhibit is the largest investment for SEA LIFE Sydney Aquarium since opening, 28 years ago.
