In 2022, outdoor retailer Anaconda launched its largest Australian retail concept store incorporating a 40ft aquarium made by AAT. Stocked with Australian Bass and Barramundi, the tanks is used to try-out fishing gear and do demo’s.
We were completely thrilled to be Aus Leisure Management magazine’s lead story in issue 151, with a photo-rich three page article celebrating AAT’s work at the Sea Shell Aquarium in Vietnam.
Spectacular acrylic viewing structures manufactured and installed by AAT create memorable experiences at this unique aquarium on Phu Quoc, Vietnam.
At the 2021 Business Awards on Australia’s Sunshine Coast, AAT was thrilled and humbled to receive recognition as the region’s top Export business, top Building & Construction (Large) business and overall Business of the Year.

We were delighted to participate in ZAA’s annual conference and enjoyed working with the organizers to set up our first ever ‘virtual booth’. Digital exhibiting has many advantages, but we still love hanging out in the real world and look forward to hitting the road once the worst of COVID is behind us.
AAT manufactures and installs numerous acrylic windows and tunnels at the new Łódź Zoo Orientarium, Europe’s most modern pavilion dedicated to the fauna and flora of Southeast Asia and home to 35 species of land animals and 180 species of fish.
In January we joined the Zoo and Aquarium Association Australasia (ZAA) as a corporate member. ZAA is the peak body and collective voice of leading zoos, aquariums, sanctuaries and wildlife parks across Australasia.
Each year, ZAA members “…connect 22 million visitors with nature, educate 1.1 million students about wildlife, support 629 conservation programs and contribute over $20 million to conservation”.
Xplore is a 4,500 square meters multi-zone kids edutainment space featuring an 1,200 square meters interactive Ocean section including an aquarium with 2,000 fish, 140 species and 20 exhibits.
One of Europe’s oldest and most prestigious privately owned zoo and botanical gardens launches the Land of the Cold exhibit, featuring a 9.3-meter- long acrylic tunnel plus domes and viewing windows manufactured by AAT Acrylics, installed by Advanced Australian Technologies (AAT).
AAT Acrylics signs first order for over 500 tonnes of acrylic with Vinpearl Land’s new Sea Shell marine life experience. Working in collaboration with Legacy Entertainment, out of California, AAT delivered fast-tracked design services allowing the client to continue with their accelerated project delivery time-frame.
$100 million refurbishment relaunches a stunning tropical island resort severely damaged by a cyclone. As part of the Daydream Island renovation project, AAT installed a swim reef, a 8-meter x 3-meter x 150-millimetre-thick acrylic window weighing eight tonnes and several smaller FRP tank exhibits.
AAT designs, manufactures and installs an aquarium located in the Arrivals & Departures lounge of the Whitsunday Coast Airport.
In collaboration with lead contractor Perkins Construction, AAT builds and installs 12 Fibre-Reinforced Polymer (FRP) tank exhibits – complete with acrylic panels and a new LSS – as part of a $12.9 million makeover. The Dolphin Discovery has a long history of dolphin conservation, care and education near Koombana Bay.
AAT designs and builds a customised transportation tank to transfer two beluga whales from an aquarium in Shanghai to Iceland, for ‘retirement’. (Read related article.)
Advanced Aquarium Technologies delivers the Middle East’s largest themed aquarium, home to 30,000 animals in over 55 exhibits. The Oman Aquarium was opened by the heir to the throne of Oman.
AAT begins design work on the Sealife Aquarium project in 2017, and it is completed in 2018.
The grey nurse shark animal transportation tank features customised life support and digital monitoring systems to take care of the animals – which were transported individually – during their journey. (Read related article.)
AAT Acrylics commences production of ACRYLITE® acrylic, ending AAT’s dependence on capacity-constrained 3rd party manufacturers.

AAT refurbishes the crocodile exhibition at this Sydney attraction to improve animal welfare and handling outcomes. With a pop-up acrylic cylinder and a demi-tunnel visitors can now come face to face with the inhabitants, all the while the crocodile is smiling back.

Following a massive redevelopment program, Hong Kong’s Ocean Park opened its Aqua City attraction zone in January 2011 featuring a 5,244,000-litre Grand Aquarium with Life Support Systems by AAT.
AAT starts 5-year operational contract for 130,000 L cylindrical aquarium at Melbourne’s Royal Children’s Hospital, which was opened by HM The Queen 26 October 2011. The two-storey-high tanks provides an engaging and welcome distraction from illness for the young patients.
