Project Overview

Kelly Tarlton’s Underwater World in Auckland New Zealand was the world’s first aquarium to use acrylic tunnel for major aquarium viewing and was originally constructed in the early 1980’s.

In 2008 AAT sent a team of twelve to carry out a refurbishment to the 110 meter acrylic tunnel. The refurbishment works included removing the panels, polishing, re-sizing and re-installing the sections. AAT also repaired damaged waterproofing in a number of areas.
