The Science Place – an $85M building at JCU’s Douglas campus – is a four-level, 12,000 square-meter hub for teaching and research with ultramodern laboratories and technology-enabled active learning spaces.
Advanced Aquarium Technologies (AAT) built the aquarium’s authentic simulation of a rockwork bommie in the company’s quality-controlled offsite manufacturing facility and transported to the site for installation.
An AAT Skid-Mounted Life Support System (LSS) keeps the water clean, healthy and in perfect condition.
In addition to making a spectacular feature at the entrance to this innovative building, staff and students can use the aquarium for marine research and teaching opportunities too.
